"Yoga won't turn you into a religious fanatic, it won't turn your body into a pretzel and you won't be forced to meditate. What it will do is help you learn to appreciate yourself and to appreciate others. It's a method of physical, mental and emotional development." - Mary Cavanaugh, Co-Founder of YogaJP.

Yoga and Meditation

Why Meditate?

Yoga and Meditation go hand-in-hand - like peas and carrots. Yoga works on your physical body through gentle, flowing and stretching movements combined with deep breathing. Thereby, cleansing your body of toxins and stress and giving you more energy and stamina. Meditation supports this effort by calming your mind and removing many of the busy thoughts that often consume our waking and resting hours. We all know how exhausted we can feel from just plain worry or analyzing things to death. When you can free your mind from this burden, you feel rejuvenated and clear-headed.

How To Start?

Trying yourself to stop thinking or slow down your thoughts is unrealistic, and will probably cause you more discomfort from the lack of success. Most people find that simple visual imagery meditations are the easiest way to start a meditation practice. Visual imagery simple means that, through words and images, your mind is transported into a different state as it imagines and senses the scene that is being described.

Healing Rainbow Meditation

Because of our focus on Gentle Yoga for people dealing with physical limitations and limited mobility, we selected a beautiful Healing Meditation that uses the Rainbow in a visual imagery journey. As you listen to Mary narrate your journey over the "Rainbow Bridge", you will feel all the colors of the Rainbow cascade over your body and bring you a feeling of lightness and joy as you cross over.

Try Meditation today and experience the healing affects of the Rainbow Journey.
