Do you know what Yoga sequence is described as the “most complete exercise available”? It is Sun Salutations (aka Surya Namaskar). This is because it offers movements for strength, stamina and flexibility … it is the Benefit Trio for Good Health!  

So, let’s dissect this sequence for a moment… The Sun Sal sequence links physical movements to the breath and calls upon the major muscles of your body to perform. Powering up those big muscles takes energy, and thus it helps build your cardiovascular endurance and improve your circulation. The movements in the Sun Salutation tone your muscles by lengthening and strengthening them through the repetitive movement patterns. And finally, the up and down movements encourage flexibility in your muscles and joints for better balance and agility.

But the best thing about Sun Salutations is that Everyone can do them and benefit from them!  No  matter if you do them sitting in a chair, or standing on your Yoga mat…. just do them every day!  Below we share both Chair and Mat versions! Enjoy!
